February 11, 2009

When we sent mail from Gmail, the mail is enclosed with subjects, mail ids, time stamp of the mail and so on. But there is no option to know where the mails comes from (the location), or from which place the mail sent.ut now Gmail activated an option in the Signature to say “Where am I” to the mail recipient. Here the Gmail appends the feature that it detects the your location and appends the city region and country names to your signature, like this:

It’ll use your public IP address to determine your location, so it may not always be that accurate. If you want more accurate location detection, make sure your browser has a version of Gears that supports the location module.

You’ll always be able to disable the option or just delete your location from specific emails whenever you want.
